ICC ASSESSMENT SAIL

Sailors who need an ICC, but do not wish to attend an RYA training course, can take the ICC assessment to prove their competence. In order to comply with the requirements of UNECE ITC Resolution 40 under which the ICC is issued, the RYA must ensure that anyone who is issued with an ICC is competent in accordance with the resolution.

An applicant who has passed an RYA Day Skipper Practical Course has proved their competence and therefore on presentation of their certificate the ICC can be issued. For boaters who have not successfully completed an acceptable RYA practical course, but already have the required level of competence, the alternative is to take the ICC assessment. The syllabus for the assessment is published in the ICC Application Form or candidates can purchase the RYA ICC Handbook to guide them through the requirements.

Menorca Cruising can offer an ICC assessment on their school boat in Mahón.

2017 FEES (Including Spanish vat) Course Fees per Person
Course Code Description Duration May to October (in Menorca)
ICC Assessment Half Day €295

The ICC application form can be downloaded from the RYA website. More details on the ICC assessment on the RYA Website.

Charter with RYA Tuition in Menorca and the MediterraneanThe Best of Both Worlds
We can provide a wide range of sailing experiences, making the most of our resources to meet the needs of families and groups. It is often the case that individual members of a party have different priorities, some wanting time to relax, sunbathe and swim while others want to learn to sail or improve their sailing skills. RYA courses are ideal when everyone is 100% committed to training, but they have a set syllabus which can interfere with the plans of those wanting a relaxing holiday in the sun. If you would like the opportunity to have a few afternoons off to sunbathe and explore the beautiful coastline of Menorca, you may prefer a charter with tuition tailored to meet your individual requirements.

‘Introduction to Sailing’ Weeks
This is a great way for friends and families to experience sailing on a big boat for the first time. You can choose to spend as many nights on board as you wish, or combine the course with a week in a villa, farmhouse or hotel accommodation. Menorca Cruising has been a recognised RYA sailing school for 15 years. You will benefit from an RYA qualified skipper with a local knowledge of the island, who will combine first class tuition with a great holiday in the sun. Take as long as you like over lunch. You must be aware that safety is the priority and the skipper has the final say over any itinerary.

‘Skipper Refresher’ Weeks
‘Skipper Development’ weeks are ideal for groups who want to combine a charter holiday with a refresher course or skills development training. These weeks allow you to choose the number of days you would like an instructor on board. If you are an experienced sailor you can book our Chief Instructor, who has honed the skills of some of Spain’s top racing sailors. Whatever your experience, there is always the chance to learn something new in Menorca, an island famous for its sailing winds.
